During the season of Lent, Christians around the world engage in a renewed practice of prayer, fasting, and service in preparation for Holy Week when we remember the self-giving and transformative love of Jesus. Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection are not merely historical events, but something we live today personally and communally through the various ways we struggle and strive for new life in the Spirit.
As a way to support and deepen our journey this Lent, Ignatian Yoga will share insights from the 8 limbs of the Yoga Sutras throughout the 40 days. The 8 limbs provide a framework for spiritual practice that helps individuals move from the exterior to the interior levels of consciousness. The journey of Lent is also a time to move from our busy, often externally-focused lives into a deeper internal awareness of and relationship with God.
May we use these forty days as a time to renew our spiritual practice and to make space for relationship with the living God in and among us.
